Xcelience Expands Business Development and Marketing Team with Company Growth



(TAMPA, FL September 10, 2008) – Continuing to exceed expectations, Xcelience, a Tampa-based company in early drug development, added three new associate business development directors and a director of marketing and strategic development to the Xcelience team this month.


“Our quality-first focus is spurring growth,” explained CEO Derek Hennecke, “and we need to expand our sales and marketing coverage across the US to be able to better serve both existing and potential clients.” The four hires are part of an effort to drive topline growth, increase industry visibility and seek out new business opportunities, without compromising Xcelience’s reputation as a company that will go the extra mile for existing clients, he added.


Joining Xcelience as associates in business development are Omar Lamm, Dontae Solomon and Robert Steitz. Lamm formerly was associate director of business development for Bilcare, focusing on the southeast region (US). He brings extensive knowledge from Bilcare, Cardinal Health (now Catalent) and Diosynth, and will be handling sales and client relations for Xcelience’s southeast region.


Solomon will handle sales efforts for the southwest region. Soloman brings to Xcelience high-level experience from his former position as account director and manager at Catalent, where he was known for his strong customer relation and negotiation skills, and his keen eye for business development.


Steitz also comes to Xcelience from Catalent, and brings a wealth of experience from his previous position as account manager and technical sales specialist. Steitz brings with him a reputation for surpassing corporate goals and exceeding revenue targets. Combined with his additional experience at Qualicaps and Capsugel, he will be an excellent addition to Xcelience’s sales efforts in the mid-Atlantic region.


Also joining Xcelience as director of marketing and strategic development is Kim Black-Washington, previously director of marketing at MDS Pharma Services. Black-Washington brings an extensive understanding of market planning, brand management, pricing strategy and more, which will assist in a seamless transition. Black-Washington will serve as the leader for all marketing activities and potential partnering arrangements/activities.
